Zeppelin Therapy

I have not had writers block. There have been blogs after blogs that have fermented in my brain, however, the news has been so bleak for America and Americas' future, I have had to engage in Zeppelin therapy.

There goes Obama, taking over one company, putting another out of business. Good people loosing jobs wherever I go, and I want to rant. Man, do I want to rant. Instead, I found that lots of Zeppelin cools my anger.

On YouTube, there is some Zep you would not believe, "the lost performances". Amazing stuff. Led from back around 1968 or 1969, in black and white film. It looks like they guys are in a garage somewhere, and they invite 20-30 people off the street to come in and sit on the floor and listen to them. AND they flat rock it.

I have needed allot of Zeppelin therapy. My friends, do you realize what the left is doing to America? It is enough to make you cry. The one thing the religious left never has a problem cutting is defense. In St. Louis, ten percent unemployment is about to get much worse. Twenty thousand more jobs gone this month, military cuts, courtesy of the left. Of course, we will still pay for Nancy Pelosi's mouse, and give money to Hamas, and lets study drunken hookers in China, but who has money for defense?

AND I need Zeppelin Therapy. I need to see Jimmy Page, playin' that guitar. Got to get the insanity of the left out of my brain. The live version of Dazed and Confused will do just that. One of those lost episodes I mentioned has a nine minute version of Dazed and Confused from 1968. Incredible stuff. And the version from the Song Remains the Same, may be the best guitar performance of all time.

I watch the boys rock and roll and I hardly notice the left and their plans to starve America of energy. Well, I notice, but then I dig up an video of Jimmy Page playing the mandolin in the Battle of Evermore. For a short time, I forget about the horrific damage the religious left, the Emotionals...are doing to our country.

It has taken allot of Zeppelin Therapy.

I was blessed in the past couple of months with two wonderful grandsons. I hold these tiny boys in my hands, and I wonder about the future for them.

The left has a plan for babies. Yup, either kill 'em before they are born, or if the baby survives pregnancy, slap a nice little tax bill on them. Each of those wonderful baby boys owes about a million dollars in tax debt.

Yessir, the ole' tax man is ready to jump on these newborns like a rat on a cheeto. Obama and the left, eagerly stealing money from these boys...AND I need Zeppelin therapy. Gotta listen to Led Zeppelin 3, and I forget for a time, that the left wants us all to be tax slaves.

I don't know what will be your therapy this coming winter. Obama and the left are killing off energy production, and it won't be long before demand exceeds supply, and higher prices and shortages will occur. You on the religious left, will demonize the oil companies, and hell, your lord Obama will probably take 'em over.

Still, when the dust settles, we will be paying double, triple, maybe more for energy. Trust me, when the lefts' plans for energy starvation fully kick in, you're going to need therapy. Maybe Zeppelin will work for you when your house is cold this winter, or you can not afford to go anywhere.

BUT...you on the left want that kind of life for the worker bees. Your religion doesn't like oil much does it? You worship trees, and baby harp seals, and Nancy Pelosi's rat, and I need Zeppelin Therapy.

Watching the boys from 1968 in those lost episodes gave me a whole new appreciation for their talent, and the other members of the band. I also now understand a bit more of Zeppelin's music AFTER Stairway to Heaven. I think the guys were tryin' to get back to their roots. AND, for precious moments I am lost in the genius of Led Zeppelin.

I throw in some Pink Floyd to help out during really tough times. "Your lips move, but I can't hear what your saying." It is hard to get Comfortably Numb when your kids' future is being flushed down the toliet, but Floyd is so good, and Zeppelin so good, that it helps. And I don't even need a prescription.

Usually, I try and write about American hero's during such holidays as Memorial Day. I have a special place in my heart for brave Americans who gave their lives for us. I don't think the left gives a hoot about these heroes, that is my opinion. I see too many folks who are only interested in what their new god, the government, will do for them, or give them. And the Obama people could care less what bills they leave for our children to pay.

Excuse me, I reckon it is time for more Zeppelin therapy. I think I will watch the live version of Whole Lotta Love. "Way down inside..."

I too am a big led fan, but I find it interesting that such a self described liberal like yourself would approve. Zep was one of the original sex drugs and rock and roll bands. Not to mention that Page practiced witchcraft regulalrly and tried to contact the devil on countless numbers of occasions. They all considered themselves anti-capitalism, and anti-religion. I find it interesting that they are your favorite band.

If page was serious about contacting the devil he could have called STUFFany.

There is the rumor that Stairway to Heaven was helped by the devil and that's why a song with little marketing and radio play became so big. Of course, if you listen to it backwards it "sings about the devil"

If you haven't heard it backwards try it, I would suggest listening to it first before finding the words of what it supposedly says.

SAM,

We've both found You Tube music. For me, it has been the Big Swing Bands, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys and Bob's brothers, Johnnie Lee, Billy Jack and Luke.

There there are some repeated recordings of Roy Acuff's major hits, Waylon Jennings, Haggard, Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Hank -- Sr., Jr. and III -- Unless you are ready for major foul language you will want to avoid Hank III. That boy makes the early Bosephus come out as a choir boy, even with all his Rowdy Friends.

But Sam, you keep blaming Obama for the mess this country is in.

FACT -- Obama did not run up the total combined federal debt of $20-Trillion left us by Poppa and DubYah Bush.

Obama does not have any political cronies who have been spotlighted by Army Auditors as having defrauded taxpayers at least $34-Billion in Iraq alone. This on the minor KBR contracts, where they charged $100 per soldier for two pathetic meals daily - consisting mostly of dehydrated milk, eggs, potatoes and spam. Maybe $2 in actual food, paying their third world employees $1-$3.00 daily each.

And this does not consider Haliburton's fraud and overcharging on the major contracts involving the oil fields.

Nor does it consider the clear fraud in New Orleans as both of Cheney's old companies pocketed Katrina recovery funds and shafted everyone.

Obama is left trying to restore this nation's credibility globally -- where gratuitous murder of captured enemies and suspects was combined with gross mistreatment and outright torture -- creating millions of NEW enemies.

All the extremists claiming to be devout Muslins needed to do was present the video, audio and print reports from around the world -- and from our own media as FACTS are revealed.

Much of the deregulation of the financial sector was in place with Poppa Bush and Clinton. But, common sense application of existing rules prevented the gross abuses which have destroyed the world's economy.

Divestures and Sub-Prime Based Mortgage Securities are a product of the DubYah and Cheney era -- and those two phony financial instruments are at least 95% responsible for the mess Obama inherited.

FACT - Chrysler has been in deep trouble for a long time because GM basically owned the White House -- Under Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan, Bush Sr. and DubYah.

Chrysler has misguided focus on "muscle engines" and outsized vehicles.

Ford is the only major auto maker to have made it this far without a taxpayer subsidy.

Chrysler had gone into Daimler, but the German automotive power, managed to bail out. Fiat is the only possible partner.

Otherwise, "part out" the Chrysler Corporation, spread the proceeds and close the doors, which is what a number of institutional stockholders want (The Hedge Funds, some banks, insurance companies -- none known as liberals -- who want to generate profits for themselves and destroy Chrysler.)

It took Detroit a half century to create their own disaster. Considerably longer than Obama has had any influence.

The liberals did not create Sec. of Ag Block's "plow under program" of the early-80s, which devastated Eastern Washington/Oregon and Idaho wheat lands and all those towns and cities, along with much of the central wheat belt.

As you drive along the highways, take a long look at all the small towns which no longer exist.

Their destruction came through the programs of conservative politicians, building profits for the international financiers and corporations.

During 1983-1997, hundreds of thousands of farmers were wiped out, with their land going toward financial institutions. During that same period, under GOP leadership, US mining, petroleum exploration, timber and agriculture were all devastated.

Obama did not do that.

Clinton did not do that.

Harry Truman did not do that.

Jimmy Carter did not do that.

The architects were Ike and Ezra Benson, Reagan/Bush and their administrations WITH 16 years of destruction of family farmers, S&Ls, small business and many dreams for home ownership.

Clinton/Gore left balanced budgets and reduced federal debt.

DubYah's time saw the destruction completed, bloated budgets and federal debt, with the sub-prime mortgage meltdown, phony investment instruments and millions of home foreclosures.

CitiBank has picked up $59-Billion, Bank of America more than $30-Billion -- Because Bush and Company, forced BofA to absorb Country Wide and Merrill-Lynch. AIG insured much of the phony paper being floated during DubYah's regime and has required more than $50-Billion to stay intact.

The huge financial subsidies were started by BUSH,leaving the new administration to stop the whole thing and let all the banks, insurance companies and manufacturers go into bankruptcy.

Allow that, and we would not have a working economy during my lifetime and probably not in your lifetime.

You drive truck, hauling finished goods and the components and raw materials which go into those products.

What would you haul, and how would you afford YouTube and Led Zeppelin's anarchy product -- if your truck were parked for ten or more years?

Sam, when you say something has fermented in your brain, I honestly believe you! It's like a bad batch of sourdough that has a bit too much hooch! A Zepplin Song comes to mind "The Song Remains the Same!" You are still stuck on the same old rhetoric you have been stirring around for months now. Thanks to HerndonHank for the straight talk on the state of the union! These problems have been a long time coming.

I must confess, I too need Zeppelin Therapy.

There goes President Bush, valiantly leading us into the war in Iraq. He says Saddam is dangerous, and that he thinks Saddam has weapons of mass destruction and that he might use them. We're scared. We don't want another attack. We believe him. We accept that it's necessary to stop a dictator from obtaining nuclear weapons, even as North Korea practically waves them in our faces, declaring their intent to use them.

We go to war. Countless lives are lost. Countless families are torn apart by tradegy. Countless dollars are spent abroad. Despite the spending, taxes are somehow lowered at home. No WMD's were found. Hatred of America in the middle east and around the world intensifies.

The situation remains at best a catastrophic blunder based on bad intelligence that carried an enormous price in blood as well as in dollars, and at worst an intentional misleading of the public based on manufactured intelligence and fear-mongering.

But as I listen to the the sweet melody of "Babe, I'm gonna leave you", it seems to get better. The feelings seem to wash...... No, they really don't. I don't feel better at all. This isn't helping. Let me think of something else.

I hear the Republicans calling for fiscal conservatism. Bemoaning the national debt, claiming that we are morgatging our children's future. Villifiing Obama as the man who is shackling us with the debt that will bring this country to it's knees. It scares me. Is Obama really putting me this far in debt? Is he ransoming my future?

With a lump in my throat, I go to the treasury department's website, terrified to see how much I owe. $11 Trillion. Inconceivable! How could that happen? Who is responsible? I quickly perform a simple search, which exposes the culprits. The Reagan-Bush years cost us $3,066,765,655,521.66, and the second Bush Presidency cost us $4,901,104,747,205.59. In total, the last three Republican presidents have incurred almost $8 Trillion in national debt, over 70% of our outstanding national debt. The Republicans tell us that the democrats are WORSE than they are. I shudder as I try to imagine how it could get much worse.

But when I listen to the dulcet tones of Zep's live gigs, I forget all about the money that I....nope. Can't seem to forget. It's still there in the back of my head. And the fact that the people harping on the debt/spending are the same people that screwed us with it in the first place makes me confused and angry.

I talk to one of my friends, who happens to be gay. She has been with the same girlfriend throughout almost all of college. She got a job out of the state, and they are both moving out there to start a new life together. But they can't get married. So she can't share her work health-care plan, or any other benefits with her girlfriend. Whereas I can legally enter into a loveless marraige with a friend, just so she can have my health benefits. She and her girlfriend have to (on occasion) lie about their relationship or hide who they are, for fear of becoming pariahs or even worse, for fear of violence. Those two people, who are completely committed to each other, don't have equal rights or equal respect in our society, because those on the 'right' feel that their marriage would somhow damage everyone else's, or that their marriage is not allowed by a specific holy book.

But when I listen to Bonham's drum solo in "Moby Dick" I forget the fact that some of my friends are discriminated against based on who they fall in love with.... No. That still bother's me. Even while I listen to my favorite part of the song, I can't get that out of my head. When I think of all the gay couples I know who love and care for each other as much as I love my girlfriend, I understand how they feel. I know how I would feel if society told me that our love was wrong, and that I couldn't marry her. In fact, had my girlfriend and I met 45 years ago, that is exactly the position we'd be in. With society and our own government telling us we couldn't marry, because our mismatching skin colors wouldn't constitute a "traditional" and "christian" marriage.

Man, even Zeppelin can't get these things out of my head. Maybe I need to up my dosage?

Or maybe I need to stop conflating politics (which none of us can agree on) with Zeppelin (the ONE thing we ALL actually CAN agree on).
