Teachable Moment - Part 1

I am going to take advantage of an opportunity here. Our friend, Michael Hendricks, has asked some excellent questions in his blog, "Open Questions to my Conservative Friends."

Michael really does have the heart of an Educator, and asking questions is the way we learn.

I will answer all of Michael's questions, in hopes that an honest discussion of disagreements leads to solutions. Michael and I are about as far apart politically as two people can be, and still be in the same country.

But for all of our disagreements, I truly believe that Michael and I have the same goals, a better America. It is in that spirit, that I will answer all of his questions. It will take a few blog posts to do it, but worth the effort.

Question #1: "...last October...dissenters in America called un-American and now those who openly talk of secession, patriotic."

Answer: Many on the left, were openly praying for the USA to lose in Iraq, because they did not want Bush to win at anything. A victory in Iraq would deal the Bush haters a blow, and actions on the left were anti-American in nature. Liberal Senators (John Kerry, Dick Durbin, etc.) would say that our soldiers were "terrorizing" the poor Iraqi civilians, and there were no reports or evidence to support it. Carter and Clinton were taking trips abroad and slamming Bush, and the liberal press over-reported those attacks.

The left worked to destroy the credibility of the USA overseas to hurt Bush. There is no evidence anywhere that indicates the USA tortured anyone, yet, the left sold the torture propaganda overseas, and tried to endanger our war effort. I call that treason, but to the left, Damn the Constitution, they wanted Bush at any cost.

How is that different from open talk of secession? Easy. We conservatives truly wish Obama's plans would work, we just know they will not. Socialism sucks, and no matter who peddles it, it still sucks. My feelings against Obama are political in nature, not personal. The lefts hatred of Bush was above all...personal.

Now Obama and the Democrats openly trample the Constitution, and seek to re-write our country in their image. That is illegal, immoral and corrupt. Therefore, if a State like Texas, perhaps the only state big enough, and with enough courage to stand against this corrupt and immoral government, has to secede to rescue Liberty in North America, then I would call that defense of Liberty, and defense of our Constitution, as patriotic.

Question #2: "How is defending torture good but killing three terrorists bad?"

Answer: I don't know anyone who is defending torture. There are those of us who do not believe that water-boarding is torture. You on the left, seize upon water-boarding, and claim it is torture.

This happens when we talk about the murder of the unborn doesn't it? I say the left is promoting and working to murder the unborn, and the left says, it's not murder.

Isn't that interesting? To the left, a brutal, painful and barbaric practice of horribly ripping a baby from its mothers womb...killing that baby, is just a "medical procedure", but water-boarding a creep at GITMO to save American lives, is torture.

Seriously, you guys got to get your thinking clear. I don't know of anyone who objected to our fine SEALS taking out the three terrorists, but had Bush been in office Michael, you would have been the first one to shout that killing three back teenagers was bad, and would add to terrorists recruiting efforts.

Question #3: "How are protesters being against the Iraq war, evil, vile and Un-American but protesters comparing President Obama to Hitler Patriotic?"

Answer: Some of this was asked and answered in question #1, but I will elaborate. Where are the anti-war protesters now that Obama is President? Funny, I haven't seem them, and yet Obama is actually expanding the war on Terror, (even though we are not suppose to use the word terrorist anymore).

The left wold have gladly taken defeat in Iraq to embarrass Bush. That is evil, and vile, and unpatriotic. Simple enough.

I have documented, several times, why I think Obama is acting much like Hitler's regime. Hitler and Obama both used class warfare and envy to win elections, both introduced sweeping reforms in which government would take firm control of private enterprise. Both worked to increase abortion. Both ignored their own Constitutions. Both Hitler and Obama both had a wimpish, lapdog and sycophantic news media to help takeover the country. Both took steps to endanger Jews all over the world. Both took steps to downplay religious faith, citing government as the granter and guarantee of rights, not God.

Now we have Homeland Security not wanting to offended terrorists by calling them terrorists, and yet conservatives are targeted. Very Nazi-like I'd say. I believe it is patriotic to stand in the way of Obama's plans to turn the USA into a Socialist State or worse. I believe it is patriotic to stand against Obama and his attempts to use immigration policy to buy thirty million votes, with taxpayers money. I believe it is patriotic to stand against Obama's reckless and dangerous plans in the economic arena which will lead to disaster for America. I believe it is patriotic to stand against Obama and for the future of my children and grandchildren to live in a free America.
