Even A Redneck Knows

Posted Friday, April 17, 2009, at 1:02 AM

(Photo)
There was a reader who commented that none of us were offering solutions. In some of my past rants, I have offered solutions, but I'd be happy, right now, to offer just a few simple ideas that will work.

Trust me, you don't have to sit through years of indoctrination at Columbia or NYC to come up with good ideals. Politicians want you to beleive that common sense is passe, liberals want you to think that you must be so very "intellectual" to deal with man's problems.

Common sense will usually do the job when all else fails.

Even a Redneck knows that the economy can be easily fixed if:

A: Government is reduced its size by 1/3

B: Government works on a balanced budget

C: Government reduces regulation by 1/3

Even a Redneck knows that energy problems can be easily fixed if:

A: Drill now, drill everywhere in our own country

B: Build Nuclear Power plants now!

C: Stop following the Global Warming Hoax

D: Use American Coal

Even a Redneck knows that Americans would prosper wonderfully if:

A: Get rid of the IRS

B: Tax all income for everyone @ 13%

C: Cut Corporate, capitol gains and small business taxes

D: Encourage wealth instead of bad-mouthing it

E: Ignore the media

Even a Redneck knows that Americans would earn the worlds respect if:

A: Stand for human life / stop needlessly killing babies

B: Enforce our borders and encourage legal immigration

C: Quit trying to bribe our enemies

D: Stop apologizing to the world for the United States!

These are just a few ideas that would work. The problem begins with who we have in charge to implement these common sense ideas. We have an oligarchy in charge of America, and they are trying to firmly establish their death grip upon our society.

Now friends, I grandamntee it, that any man or woman, who had the stones to stand on the above ideals, Media be damned, could and would be elected. (Except in San Fransisco of course)

I contend that today's Democrats are not interested in solving any problems, they are interested in solidifying their power for decades. They do not have the best interest of America in mind.

Today, I listened to Sen. Ben Nelson, as he tried to excuse his votes for Socialism by saying that Nebraska gets billions in the so-called stimulus bill. He was like a thief, saying to all of us, "go ahead, take some of this stolen money," as he wants all of us to be as guilty as he is. I thought it was a FELONY to try and get people to accept stolen money, and maybe even CONSPIRACY. Not for Democrats I guess.

Oh Guill -

You sound so much like a bitter old woman. A poor gal who reaches old age, only to realize she is a maiden, and no one wants her. Poor guy!

Repeating your liberal lie, like holy scripture, will not make it true. Business did not cause the problems we have today, it was a runaway, bloated and out of control government created by liberals that have. AND you know that.

Maybe you should go to a shrink. Find out why you are so bitter and hate America the way you do. Do you realize that you have not bested me in a single argument? The years of liberal dogma pumped into your brain, fails you when you have to think on your own.

Marcus Elvis Erogenous was right about you. Along time ago he pointed out how you were incapable of an original thought, and it is true. You are just a walking leftist cliche.

I kind of feel sorry for you. All those years spent bowed at the alter of liberalism, and then to realize it is all a lie. That has got to leave a mark inside the ole noggin. Get help bro. Who knows, maybe you can still find some love in your heart. Anything is possible.

In recent weeks Senator Ben Nelson has repeatedly boasted about how much Nebraska will benefit from our Federal Government Stimulus spending the Senator so proudly voted for. Although I was always taught not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I decided to do a little research into how this will benefit Nebraskans. No matter how you feel on the subject of the Economic Stimulus plan I feel the true facts should be told. According to data provided by The Center for American Progress, Nebraska ranks fifth from the bottom per capita for Stimulus money spent within our state at $1553.00 per person. As comparison New York residents will receive $2102.00 per person. Finishing 47th in a race of 52 States all competing for the same money wouldn't earn you a ribbon in a 1st grade field day competition. Certainly not worth boasting about. I wonder how Nebraska Resident will fare when its time to pay the money back?

Sam,

What exactly would you mean when you say to cut entities by fractions?

When you say to cut the government by 1/3 do you mean cut that many government employees?

And how can you cut something abstract like regulation by a fraction? That doesn't make sense. Do you mean cut out 1/3 of the laws on the books?

I actually agree with your drill everywhere part, but not the now part. Our earth only has a limited number of resources, and we needn't be so selfish.

I actually also agree with your stance on immigration. If you actually think about it with a clear head, it makes sense as the best solution.

The biggest problem i see with your solutions are the ones on taxes. How could you raise taxes yet get rid of the IRS? Who would be left for regulation?

To me, it seems like you want anarchy a lot more than a conservative government.

And one more thing. My mother is a school teacher and schools and Nebraska are already benefiting greatly from the stimulous package. Education is one of the most ignored facets of politics on this forum. Did you know nebraska teachers make the 2nd lowest wages in the nation?

And the stock market is slowly climbing back up. I believe that people were scared of the stimulous package because of the numbers that came with it. But thus far, it has been fine. I could be very wrong though in the future.

Ugh, i said i would not respond to posters but dammit G5 you are just becmoing to offensive.

What the hell does half breed mean? TO me it looks like Obama is 1/2 human and 1/2 human. Just like you G5.

And if you believe kenyans should stay in kenya and spainards should stay in spain, how do you think your forefathers ever got here?

And by the way, this country was found on people escaping religous persucution, much like the comments you have said about islam.

I am in agreement that it doesnt take a rocket scientist or an ivy league educated elitist to offer suggestions and solutions to the problems that plague us today. Following the lines of logic is usually not something that is taught. Some of the most brilliant ideas I have heard came from people that I would not have expected. Lesson learned; every mind is a resource.

I also agree that we need to reduce the size of our government and live within our means. But I do not agree with drilling everywhere for oil. Most of the oil produced in the US never makes it to a car engine anyway, its road taffy used in other industries, and the process used to find it and retreive it is damaging in my opinion. I think we need to tap into nuclear power a little more, but I am not a fan of pressing that issue too far because of the waste issue.

I agree 100% in standing up for human life, enforcing our borders, and not bribing our enemies. The last statement brings a current event to mind, the rescue of the boat captain held by pirates. Some say this will bring about more violence and critisize this choice. I say, bring it on, we can not stand by and let these pirates just take ships and pay thier ransom. After a few times of NOT NEGOTIATING, and taking our property back by force, they will get the message. It may cost us a few lives, but not nearly as many as will be lost by trying to avoid the violence. They need to believe that we will have our ships and crews back, and we will NOT pay you for them! Sorry, my last rant was a little off subject.

Neo-Con

You make a good point, you know that Nebranskans, and small business, are going to be asked to pony up much of the cash for repayment. Does anyone seriously think we are able going to repay anything.

Consider education spending. Look at the amount of money spent per child, and we get inner city liberal indoctrination centers for our overpayment.

(I like our schools in our little area of the world.) Even though we spend fortunes on education, are not the educators always telling us they need more money?

When have you ever heard the govenment say THEY can get by on less. "The children" are a tool for Dems, and then they pile huge debt on them.

The Clintons would always use "for the children" to push through bad policies. Somehow, if it was for the children, well then, we could not say "no" or show any restraint. AND it's for the children. How can we possibly deny them anything?

Let me ask you folks one question. This one question should answer many other questions for you in the days ahead, and in the fight to restore America.

That one question is:

A. Kids in America are spolied.

B. Kids in America are victims.

Which is closer to the truth?

-- Posted by sameldridge on Fri, Apr 17, 2009, at 10:57 AM

I don't understand the half-breed comment G-5. We are all mutts bro. At least I am.

McCook Reader,

Yes, seriously, government could reduce by one third the number of employees.

Our government has been engaged in over regulation for some time now. That is why many businesses left the USA. We can, as a government be responsible in our regulation of business. Regulate what we need to regulate, and stop with the social engineering through over-regulation of business. Reduce the paperwork and reporting burden on business by one third.

AND, why one third? Why not? We have to start somewhere.

Getting Rid of IRS. Easy. Everybody pays a flat 13%, and our form in the size of a post card. When I say get rid of the IRS, I mean changing the IRS from a police-like gestapo organization, wanting to know your business for greed, into a small efficient collection organization that collects money cheerfully given.

The current IRS code is so massive,so confusing that every one of us is probably is some sort of violation. They do it that way on purpose. If you are worried that you could be singled out by the IRS for part of the new cruelty, then you'll keep quiet, and pay...and pay.

Congress members don't want to take on the IRS. If you do, maybe you'll get an audit, and maybe you will suddenly owe the government money and be labeled a tax cheat. So they keep quiet.

Liberals use the right to privacy when justifying abortion, and yet...where in heavens name is the right to privacy when it comes to your own damn money?

How long my friends will you and I let this government of bureaucrats make chumps out of us?

I disagree with your stance on education funding Sam.

England and Switzerland were ranked by experts as having the best education systems in the world. And its not a coincidence that they spend more on education than any other countries.

In correlation, their health care systems are the most efficient in the world, their crime rates are low, and their personal income average are among the top 5 in the world.

Their is an obvious correlation between education and success. Do some uneducated people become succesful? Sure they do. But for a society as a whole to thrive, a sturdy education system is the best solution.

Nebraska's literacy scores are very low to the national average. And I mentioned that Nebraska teachers are paid the 2nd lowest in the nation.

Connecticut and Massachusetts are in the top 3 of highest paid educators. And guess which states always do the best in proficiency tests? Yep, Mass and Conn.

This is no coincidence. If teacher pay is very low, not many will want to enter the field. Thus you have several teachers who are underqualified or do not like their job. Their is a direct correlation between higher teacher pay and higher test scores.

I may be a bit harsh. I am not against education, I am against liberalism in schools.

-- Posted by sameldridge on Fri, Apr 17, 2009, at 11:52 AM

When you talk about the auto companies, you must talk about what brought about their demise.

I say it was a two fold attack.

One, liberal unions blackmailed and arm twisted these companies into bad labor deals. The unions acted like they were at war the the car companies that were providing the jobs.

The liberal governments attack on the car companies with expensive and abusive regulation and taxation, was probably the key factor. Our own liberal government striped away the competitive edge we had in the world market, and gave foreign companies the edge. Liberal government also unleashed lawyers to hound the industry with expensive litigation.

I say, if government and unions had been moral and responsible, our Auto companies would have still been on top today.

And it is that way with allot of US Industry. Our own government, bowing to wackos' and lawyers, turns into the enemy of our own resources and talent.

But that is liberalism.

Thank you guillermo.

And I apologize for my typos G5. I was not aware that one would nit pick enough to point out grammatical mistakes when he has ran out of anything meaningful to say.

You say the term racist is irrelevant due to there being only one race, the human race. Ok. I will go with that. But then I guess that makes you ethnically discriminatory.

There, does this term make you feel better than "racist"?

And your comment about the American immigrants of old is completely inaccurate. Where did you learn this? Did you learn this somewhere, or did you come up with it in your head thinking the world at one point was how you wished it would be?"

Do you not know of thousands of people having their last names changed at Ellis Island due to them not being able to speak english? Italians, Germans, Polish, Russian, etc. It is widely known that New York city in the late 1700s and early 1800s was seperated into neighborhoods by ethnicity. There was little italy, little poland, etc. And in those neighborhoods store signs were in the language of their country, not in english.

My great granfather came to New York from Poland with hundreds of other poles who could not speak english. They would tell the immigration officers their names, yet many were to long and complicated for the officers to try and copy down so they gave them short last names, much like mine is today.

And yes, over time these immigrants worked hard and learned english. But they always had a strong patriotism for their home countries. I know you are probably referring to the term African-American when you say hyphenated Americans. But have you never heard the terms, Italian-American, Irish-American, etc.

You spit out misinformation, and you are so strong minded in believing it's correct, that you've poisoned your mind and made it closed to hearing sound logic.

My other great granfather was an immigrant from Mexico who also worked hard in the fields of sw nebraska all while supporting a family. And guess what G5, he learned english as well. Just like my european anscestors.

So you stereotyping one race of immigrants as unwilling to conform is simply inaccurate. Are there bad mexican immigrants? Sure there are. But there are just as many bad white people out there too.

McCook Reader

There may be a correlation between the ranking of test scores of students and the pay of teachers. However, that is not the case with actual dollars spent per student. According to data provided by Quality Counts 2005 Massachusetts was ranked 13th in actual dollars spent per student at $8,727 per student and did rank #1 in test scores. As compared to Colorado that ranked 40th in dollars spent per student $7,041 and finished 10th in test scores. Nebraska ranked 12th in dollars spent per student$8,741 but finished 21st in student testing. From this data I would have to conclude throwing money at schools systems may not be the answer. Maybe more efficiency from the school systems themselves would correlate to higher teacher pay.

-- Posted by neocon#49% on Fri, Apr 17, 2009, at 9:54 PM

G5 did you read my latest post? I accepted the fact that you are not a racist. You are ethnically discriminatory, since we are being so politically correct.

So are you implying the liberals created racism 40 years ago? If so, how does that explain the holocaust? How does that explain all of the acts of ethnic cleansing that have gone on throughout history?

And whether you see it or not with your rose colored glasses, anyone throwing around the term "half-breed" is a racist, whether the term is physiologically correct or not.

-- Posted by mccookreader on Sat, Apr 18, 2009, at 9:36 AM

I don't know why you guys don't listen to me!!

You need to embrace muttdom.

One of the saints of Liberalism, the founder of the abortion mongers at Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, wanted to use abortion to rid the USA of black folks.

The left is ate-up with racism. They see race in everything. The left does not want the race issue to die, because they use race to divide folks and buy votes. What else is new?

G5 is correct. Modern day racism is found in the heart of the left, driven by the left, and exploited by the left.

When will you leftists stop focusing on race?

Sam, thanks for this post.

There was one president who actually had a true balanced budget, I'm don't remember who exactly it was, though it wasn't Clinton. The economy actually was hurt because of it. The government is hands down the biggest spender. Even before Obama's massive budgets. When the biggest spender quits spending, there tends to be less money on the table for business.

I'm all for smart government spending. If that includes a balanced budget or not I think depends on the time. Personally, I think the government should spend less in great economic times and spend more in recessions. In great times there's inflation associated with it, government spending more increases it more. In bad time's there's there's deflation the government tighting it's belt would mean less money out there getting to businesses.

With Obama's plans, I think there's a lot of pork. I also think there's a lot of good. I'm more worried about hyper-inflation when the economy turns around because of the extra trillions of dollars out there.

I also believe in smart regulations. I'm not so fixated on the number of regulations out there as I am how much help or hurt the people of America. I'm also a big supporter of using persuasion instead of creating more laws. I do think there needs to be more oversight in the banking industry. I don't care who deregulated but lets get some more safeguards in place.

I agree the government needs to reduce its size in a variety of areas. There's too many places that overlap or that have no real power. It's like the department of redundancy department. Will some jobs be lost by consolidating offices, Probably. will it mean a more efficient government that's cheaper to run? Of course.

I agree the tax code is way to big. I'm not even sure if there's one person in the IRS knows everything in it. Before reading your blog, I was thinking why a one rate for everybody wouldn't work. I thought a good rate would be between 5-10% I can live with 13. I also agree with cutting taxes across the board for business, cap gains and especially the death tax. it's at what, like 50%? you might as well spend all of your money before you die.

I think we need more nuclear power plants. I can go with drilling more. I would like to leave Alaska protected for the time being though.

I don't know if I agree with ignore the media as much as get them to quit putting a spin on the news. I'd also like more happy news. An article or two about when a gun was used to save a life rather then kill someone would be nice too. I have a hard time ignoring the media, but I also have hard time believe everything from one news source. If your getting your news from just CNN or just FOX or just one site, then your crazy if you think you get the who story.

There's not enough encouragement to get wealthy. I think there's a lot of rich people who are being wrongfully targeted.

For your point on immigration, I was really intrigued by an early blog you had Sam about doing a more EU free travel thing. I think that would be one of the best solutions. I think travel should encouraged between us and our neighbors.

Overall, I think a lot of our economies problems are more from the business cycle more then anything. The banks, the homes failing and all the lay offs were catalysts but neither one was a sole single cause of whats going on now.

-- Posted by npwinder on Sat, Apr 18, 2009, at 9:26 PM

NPwinder - thanks for your comments. I appreciate your time.

Guillermo - Once again you are wrong. I have never used the term porch monkey, and in fact, I took exception with the term when G5 used it, and said so.

I don't believe I have ever used the term raghead, and I prefer the term Islamic Nazis, which they are. Most of the troubles in the world are due to Muslims who cannot or will not get along with their neighbors.

When will you stop justifying their inanity? You cannot, because you hate the USA as much as they do, however you don't quite have the stones to admit it.

I have never claimed genetic superiority. Whatever you are smokin' bro, you had better ease up. I have stood for and advocated that people quit referring to genealogy. I think it separates people.

I can understand G5's anger. Radical leftists have taken control of the country, they are trampling on the Constitution, they are allowing the murder of innocents, and stealing from not only the people of today, but future generations as well.

I understand G5's anger as Obama chums it up with Hugo Chavez, bows to Muslim Royalty, bad-mouths America wherever he goes, and used race to get ahead and promote himself.

G5 is just not a phony like most of you libs are, he says it and means it. Do I agree with every word uttered from his orifice? No, I don't even agree with my wife that much. Get real!

Obama is bad for the USA and the World because he is a flaming Socialist with possible delusions of godhood, and arrogantly clueless. I could care less what color he chooses to call himself.

You leftists will never be satisfied until you have raped America of it's greatness. I see that your leftist tactics work in some parts of the world, and I admit that those tactics have had some success here in the USA.

Typical with leftists hate mongers however, you underestimate the American people. And...that is why I believe liberalism will die a horrible death, sooner than later.

Never underestimate the American people. Liberty will survive on this continent in spite of you, so get use to it bro.

-- Posted by sameldridge on Sun, Apr 19, 2009, at 12:22 AM

"No,there are more differences within ethnic groups, then there are without ethnic groups, half-breed."

G5, I am convinced that if you say something outlandish with enough conviction it makes you believe it to be true.

http://www.faqs.org/abstracts/Health/Eth...

This is an excerpt from a medical journal in which it is proven that caucasians have less bone density than blacks.

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles...

This think shows findings suggest that genetic differences among ethnic groups contribute to changes in the immune system, affecting susceptibility to MS.

Ever heard of Tay-Sachs disease? The disease is caused by a mutation in the HEXA. This is synonymous with the Ashkenazi Jewish ethnicity.

Sickle cell anaemia blood disorder found in African and African americans predominantly. 1 in 500 black children in America have the disease while the number for white americans is to minute to mention.

Thus, your theory on their not being biological differences between ethnicity is incorrect.

And the left may have used Obama's ethnicity, but this is only in response from the noted racism coming frequently from the far right.

When i've heard the n word used in mccook I assure you it is not from smug liberals, it is from uneducated conservative extremists.

-- Posted by mccookreader on Sun, Apr 19, 2009, at 11:54 AM

Guill - your hatred betrays you. Get help, for your own sanity.

Also, whoever said I was a Republican?

-- Posted by sameldridge on Sun, Apr 19, 2009, at 3:11 PM

Guillermo - you're a glittering jewel of colossal ignorance. Thanks for demonstrating leftist hate and dogma so well.

McCook Reader, please don't be so easily seduced by leftist thinking. Leftists are awash in the blood of innocents, and they want company.

Look at Guillermo's arguments. Somehow just because an idea has the benefit of being time tested, wackos think that is reason enough to reject it and to resort to scorn.

I would hate to see you fall into this leftist pit of hate. You said one time that the good ole boy network is dead. I would be glad if that were true. The good ole boy network is a leftist thing, not a conservative thing.

The lefts' only salvation, in their minds, is to drag as many folks to hell with them as they can. Democrats are the party of death, the party of stolen virtue, the party of ignorance and pain. They want everybody to be miserable.

You just seem like too good a person to fall for their treachery.

I know you and G5 are at each other. I know G5 can be crude, and I understand it. Folks like Guillermo want America to die, and don't think for one minute dear lady, that Guillermo gives a tinkers damn about you.

G5 on the other hand does care. G5 sees his country under a viscous assault, and he is mad. I don't blame him one bit.

Who would you rather have fighting for your life MR? G5 or Guillermo? That is an easy question for me. If Guillermo were in the fox hole with me, I'd have to not only worry about the enemy, I'd have to make sure that Guillermo wouldn't try and shoot me.

Smooth and pleasant words can be far more dangerous than crude words. Why do you think the Devil appears as an angel of light and beauty? Remember, to the leaders of the day, Christ was crude, and uneducated. In Christ' day, it was folks like Guillermo who shouted..."crucify Him, crucify Him!!"

-- Posted by sameldridge on Sun, Apr 19, 2009, at 7:12 PM

I feel flattered Sam. I feel like there is now a perpetual battle between Good and Evil going on for my soul. You are so worried that Guillermo will bring me to the darkside and fly me out to Barcelon to burn American flags, punt aborted fetuses, and drown a litter of kitens in a burlap sack.

Do not worry. Contrary to popular belief I am not swayed by every single word posted on a message board.

You imply that G5 cares about me. Wow. He has an interesting way of showing it. Sam I truly believe based on your postings that you have a good heart and you have formed your opinion with much thought. But you claiming G5 as a fellow conservative is how the republican party is losing members. People like G5 scare Americans. He is a biggot. And America in this stage in time is trying as hard as possible to prove that it is not a racist nation. It is ashamed of slavery and is trying to distance itself. G5 represents regression into scary mindsets.

Moreover, the biggest problem I see with the Republican party is misrepresentation. The actual core values of the republican party are not far different than that of the democratic party. But recently the Republican leaders have been a stereotype of rich white rural people who care solely about themselves.

Bush made a lot of mistakes and people who were on the fence quickly spaced themselves from bush and became a dem.

Then comes literally the worst decision in the history of the Rep. Party. Sarah Palin. You may call me harsh but I am being realistic. When in the history of our country has a potential vice president not known that Africa was a continent rather than an individual country? When has a potential vp literally not know the function of the senate?

Many republicans were speaking out against Palin, and that's what should've been done. But then you had people in rural white areas who heard that Sarah Palin was a caring mom who was against abortion. No one cared that it took her 3 yrs to graduate from an Alaskan community college with an associates degree. People complain about Obama's lack of knowledge and experience, how the hell could you promote Palin?

And now Palin is pushing for more special education which I agree with. Yet she refuses to accept Obama's Alaska stimulous money. Well, do you know where 11% of that money is going? You guessed it, special education.

The republican party is being completely misrepresented. And I actually feel sorry for the intelligent, strong minded republicans out there.
