Kenny And IPosted Sunday, January 25, 2009, at 8:29 PM
My wife has traveled most of those miles with me, you see, we consider Kenny kind of like a poor mans RV. We have traveled across just about every beautiful bridge in the country, except the Golden Gate. Big Trucks are not allowed on the Golden Gate, but while crossing the Bay Bridge, I've had a great view of the Golden Gate, and Alcatraz. We have been fortunate enough to travel along the Columbia River Gorge many times. Washington on one side, Oregon on the other, in the middle, the fabulous Columbia River. Western Montana is so beautiful it almost hard to describe it. But then, much of America is like that. From Kentucky to Utah, one "Wow" after another. My dog, Pedro, has traveled every mile with me. He loves life on the road. He is a mixed Black Lab and Doberman, a Mutt, about seventy-five pounds. He enjoys barking at folks as we drive though any town. Sometimes I think Pedro has an ornery streak in him. The other day, we are in downtown LA, near Long Beach, and there was a tiny Asian woman standing on the corner, innocently minding her own business, holding a bag of groceries. I noticed her too late, and before I could stop him, Pedro barked good and loud, just as we passsd this poor lady. I glanced in my mirror, the groceries went up in the air. It was funny, but not nice. I did not want to laugh, but I couldn't help it. I know Pedro did it on purpose. Kenny and I have run into allot of just super folks out here in America. This is a grand country indeed. I am surprised, other than for certain liberal cities, just how many churches there are in the USA. AND, those churches appear to be full on Sundays. People are kind, all over America. People work hard, all over America. AND, folks, I don't see the racism in America that others seem to find. I will not lie to you friends, in my humble opinion, the WEST is the BEST. I'd just as soon stay on this side of the Mississippi. Back East is okay, lots of trees, and often I feel like I'm traveling through green tunnels. Out West, you can see the wonders. The folks out West, tend to be a bit happier, a bit friendlier, in my humble opinion. Do I get tired of the road? Sure, sometimes, but then I get to see a beautiful sunset in southern Utah. That will make ya glad in a hurry. Or, a herd of Elk that I saw today in Southern Idaho. Sure, it's snowing, and a bit cold, but Kenny is running good, and folks are counting on us to rumble on. Good Night from Snowy Idaho from Kenny and I. (And Pedro too!) Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Sam, Sam, Sam, didn't anyone ever tell you Maine is not in the Lower-48? It is really in the Upper-1 of 48.
Heh Heh Heh. Old, bad, Navy Joke, from when I was stationed in the 'Blue Nose' area.
Remember where the shiny side belongs. Arley
Arley - Just drove through 300 miles of white out, and icy roads, yet, the antelope and elk I saw hardly noticed the weather, or the 30-40 mph wind.
I really do want to get to Maine, just haven't yet. I bet the coast of Maine is truly wonderful.
Thanks for reading navyblue - Sam
