Mock OutragePosted Friday, April 10, 2009, at 6:34 AM
I have been watching over the last week the absolute "foaming at the mouth" of the media of whether or not President Obama bowed before the King of Saudi Arabia. Before I go any further, after watching the video, the President DID bow to the king.
Those in the media are in an absolute mock outrage about this. Fox News has even had people on its network stating that by bowing President Obama was sending a message that we as a nation were subservient to Muslims. My first reaction upon seeing this was to laugh out loud. There is such fear of Obama being a secret Muslim that I have no doubt that if he held the king's hand, the media would be putting out press releases stating that with the hand holding, Obama was without a doubt Muslim. But then that brings to question, how come when the King visited the United States during Bush's time and Bush held his hand, there wasn't a similar outcrying. Joe Scarborough, on MSNBC in the morning, made the statement that the two aren't similiar and how dare Obama bow to another dignitary. He went on to say that by bowing Obama was violating some unnamed presidential protocol. That's a bunch a hullabaloo. I'm sorry but that's just crap. Ask just about anyone which action they believe is more affectionate or subservient, and most people would probably choose holding hands. Honestly between the two, holding someone's hand is a lot more personal than bowing. The only problem that I have is that the Obama administration is actually denying that it happened. It's obvious to anyone who watched the video that Obama did in fact bow. But Robert Gibbs*, the press secretary, did make a good point after trying to spin this. He said that he doubted that people who are worried with the American economy probably don't seriously care about this at all. I think he is right about this. Those people who don't know for sure that within the next couple of weeks whether or not they are going to have a job aren't paying attention to this. They don't care, they are focused on whether or not Obama bowed to some foreign dignitary. They want to know when our economy is going to turn around. It is mock outrage, pure and simple. The bottom line is when you can't attack Obama on the economy, as things seem to be making the slow turn in the right direction, make up something to get people's focus off of the successes that are going on. Unfortunately for the media that are crying foul over this "bow" have discovered, I believe, that no one really cares if he bowed or not. After all, bowing in most parts of the world, is a show of respect. *Correction changed Gates to Gibbs Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I kind of have to agree with you on this one. I can think of several other things about President Obama that alarm me more than whether or not he made a showing of respect to another dignitary.
Your right, most parts of the world it shows respect. But in the world of Saudi Arabia it means cower.Just like a pack of dogs.Whos got the power.
Why do people insist of perpetuating this foolishness? Right wingers rail and whine that he bowed and is weak. Left wingers rail and whine that conservatives are picking on thier poor beleagured hero. Why don't we just stop all this stupidity?
I really like that the essay on "mock outrage" (at least to me) is full of the supposed mock outrage you purport to argue against. Well perhaps mock outrage on your part is a bit too harsh, maybe mock offense is more appropriate. If it doesn't matter if he bowed as you suggest, (and I would agree it doesn't) why does the administration so ardently argue that it was no bow?
On the issue of the hand holding, there was a media and popular response if you recall. Wasn't there much snickering and discussions of "man-dates?" You are partially correct, hand-holding is a sign of affection; however, I can't imagine that many people would agree with you that hand-holding is a sign of subservience. When I hold hands with my wife, which of us is the subservient Mike?
For the record, I don't think Obama is a secret Muslim, I fear he is something much worse. He is like most all politicians an overt panderer.
If bowing is a sign of respect, is the fact that King Abdullah did not bow to Obama evidence that he does not respect the president?
Wow G5 such vitriol! Why cover some otherwise valid points with such vileness that few people could stand to read it and those that do would have difficulty separating a solid argument from the invective?
here's one for you mike. Google CBS evening news on 04/27/05.
Wow G5 even that vitriol from you suprised me and I am pretty used to most of your comments.
Not going to even touch the whole birth certificate myth. The Supreme Court has refused to hear this issue twice but hey liked I pointed out in the original post when you can't attack his policies show your mock outrage somewhere else.
Also I like your point where you say "If bush indeed did hold hands ..." (I won't put in the rest of your comment) as if you don't fully believe that he really did even though there is videotape of it. It happened at his ranch in Texas.
And SWNebr Transplant, I wasn't showing any outrage, real or mock, in my original post. I was merely pointing out the difference of news coverage over how Bush dealt with the King (holding hands) and how Obama deals with the King (bows). Both are similar, yet if you recall the coverage was completely different.
Doodle bug I googled what you suggested I google and I'm not really sure what you were wanting me to see, so if you could elaborate on that I would be grateful.
President Bush followed Middle Eastern peer-to-peer protocol. President Obama followed Middle Eastern weaker-to-stronger protocol.
As bad as both looked to our eyes, Pres. Obama's was actually obsequious to Middle Eastern eyes. He placed himself - and our country - in a lower position relative to Saudia Arabia.
We elected a little boy to office, and he went out in the big, bad world...and acted like a little boy instead of an equal.
sorry not to have been more explicit mike. I was merely wanting to show that the media had a heyday bloviating about Bush and the Saudi king holding hands as they strolled. And I am loath to point out bad behavior as being justification for more bad behavior. The Bush admin admittedly made many mistakes in actions and policies; I dont very often see you pointing out mistakes made by the current admin. And remember, I posted "very often" when referring to your current posts.
Mike,
Just to clarify, Robert Gates is the Secretary of Defense and Robert Gibbs is the Press Secretary. Oddly enough,I was just thinking about how easy it would be to confuse the two names a couple of days ago.
With that out of the way, I don't have a lot to say about this because personally, I don't see it as a big deal in my day to day life. However, I do understand that his actions could be misinterpreted by the Saudi king or others as an act of submission but I think the discussions he has with these leaders will have a greater impact than this.
He still should have known better than to bow to anyone since he is the leader of the United States of America and Americans do not like their leader bowing to anyone. It's more of a morale issue for Americans than anything. I guess the point I'm making is that it wasn't "Barack Obama" who bowed to a foreign leader. It was the "President of the United States" who bowed to a foreign leader. Perception is still very important for the leaders of nations and their people. Hopefully, he will keep this in mind in the future.
G5, obviously you have never read the actual Koran, because if you had you would quickly see the similarites between the dieties of the Koran and the dieties of the Bible. The Koran was, of course based off the Bible.
The terrorists today bear no resemblance to the original faithful to the Koran. In the Koran, women were actually treated as equals and in many cases better than men in the Bible, it was the sects (which the Saudi regime follow) that diminished and actually today disregard women.
Look I don't support or like the current regime in Saudi Arabia, after all most of the terrorists on 9/11 came from Saudi Arabia and probably state sponsored.
But to group of Muslims into one category is dangerous and as much as I hate to say it ignorant of who they really are. Islam has the same breakdowns as Christians do. I'm sure if you came out and called all Christians "child raping white-collars" (in reference of course to the Catholic Priests) I'm sure there would be a great number (the majority actually) of Christians get offended that they were compared to child molestors. But I highly doubt you really care about that G5.
McCook1,
Wow I read through that twice and didn't realize that I had made that mistake. Thanks for pointing it out. A correction has been noted and changed.
Micheal,
I am reminded of Bill Clinton. The man committed treason, the man lied repeatedly, even when he did not have too. I don't want to write a book here, but Clinton betrayed the American people repeatedly, and he should be in jail. If you want to debate the Clinton crimes, I suppose we could.
My point is, the Clinton crimes were ignored because the Republicans fell into the trap of going after him on the Lewinsky he got in the Oval Office. Dick Morris' strategy was simple, get people focused on the Lewinsky, and the other stuff would go away.
Obamas' stupidity and incompetence may be glossed over by too much focus on his bow to Muslim monarch.
Obama has already done extreme damage to this Nation, the American people and the World. Many people are going to die because of Barack Obama. He is weakening the United States by the minute. He has embolden our enemies, he is working to crush our economy, and embracing racism.
After millions are tragically killed because of the Obama Administrations' stupidity, an "I told you so" will not do much good. I don't want an "I told you so", because the price in human suffering isn't worth it to me.
I don't really understand the liberal mindset of hate America, I never have.
The only reason the economy is still alive is because of conservatives, who will continue to work harder, and prop up the economy. Of course, you liberals will credit Obama. Yet, it is small business people, now working sixteen hours a day to survive in spite of you Democrats, that are keeping us from collapse.
I think you government workers are safe, aren't you? Ever hear of the government cutting back? LOL.
Right now, thanks to Obama and the Democrats, I am having to work 16-18 hour days, for 60% of the wages I received while Bush was President for an 8-10 hour days.
Maybe that is what you liberals want. To crush small business, to destroy free enterprise, so that we all work for the government. If America survives the Obama disaster, it will be because of the entrepreneurial spirit of the business people in this country, not because of government workers.
AND, don't be weird here. I know we need government employees. But it is time that government use some honest business principles, and quit acting like they are above reality.
I know you are a bright guy Michael, I just wish I knew who screwed up your thinking.
It is not government that made America great, rather government allowing people to be great. Now, you liberals want to take that away. God only knows why.
Mike, please forgive me if I duplicate someone else's opinion, as I decided to come here, and will read the other opinions after my entry.
In a way, I agree with you, except for a couple of things. But, first-off, there are protocols that determines the behavior of the President of the United States, be it right or wrong, it is not for one President to set the entire country back on it's heals, by determining that he has complete autonomy respecting the greetings between Heads of State.
One of the problems that I noticed was the factor of 'Subservient bowing to the Superior,' which is exactly what happened in this case. President Obama, by bowing, without a return bow from the Saudi King, connotes the servant cowering before the Superior. Only if they both bow to the other, is respect maintained 'horizontally.'
In that same vane, President Obama bowing to the King, places (in the mind of the Muslim) all of America under their authority. This is something that is not allowed, by Congressional dictate, as well as Presidential... (can't remember the name), which IMO President Obama did not, nor could he, set-aside.
You may not mind. We may not mind, but the Saudi's mind, as does all Islam. Head's of State, greet one another with Horizontal respect, not vertical.
Your attitude does err, Mike.
Of course, I do not expect you to retract from your attitude, as is your Constitutional right. I do feel sorry that you do not understand that power has responsibilities, and rules that must be adhered to, no matter the circumstances.
I have been to many countries, and questioned many people, some of high position, and they all said that we, Americans, are the most belligerent, cantankerous, and difficult to like, people on the face of this planet. B U T, they also offered their heartfelt respect that we do not cow-tow to any one no matter the pressure, because it is American belligerence that keeps them and us safe from loosing our freedoms.
Your system, Mike, will work well, in Heaven, but not too well when dealing with the imperfection, and sinfulness of mankind.
Enough said.

I guess I should have read the comments, before offering my own thoughts, as my thoughts seem to have been well expressed, by others, before I arrived at this accident.
Mike, you have an absolute right to feel, and think as you do, but, as asked above, 'why is it that Liberals seem to hate America?' That question has also crossed my mind. To treat all people equally, to insure that all receive equal income, have equal living conditions, and, well, have total equality, smacks to much like Communism, I cannot find another expression to offer.
Destroy this country, through equal everything, and freedom will be lost, worldwide, not to be resurrected for many hundreds of years, and payment of much human life. The civic lifestyle circle seems to be functioning quite well, when free people forget what made them free.

Islam / Islamic / Muslim Beliefs
Followers of Islam, known as Muslims, believe that God (or, in Arabic, Allah) revealed his direct word for mankind to Muhammad (c. 570--632) and other prophets, including Adam, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Muslims assert that the main written record of revelation to mankind is the Qur'an, which they believe to be flawless, immutable and the final revelation of God. Muslims believe that some parts of the Bible and the Torah may have been misinterpreted or distorted by their followers. With that perspective they view the Qur'an as corrective of Jewish and Christian scriptures.
Muslims hold that it is essentially the same belief as that of all the messengers sent by God to mankind since Adam, with the Qur'an (the one definitive text of the Muslim faith) codifying the final revelation of God. Islam sees Judaism and Christianity as derivations of the teachings of certain of these prophets - notably Abraham - and therefore see them as fellow Abrahamic religions, and People of the Book. Islam has two primary branches of belief, based largely on a historical disagreement over the succession of authority after Muhammad's death; these are known as Sunni and Shi'ite.
The basis of Muslim belief is found in the shahadatan ("two statements"): la ilaha illa-llahu; muhammadur-rasulu-llahi -- "There is no god but God; Muhammad is the messenger of God." In order to become a Muslim, one needs to recite and believe these statements. All Muslims agree to this, although Sunnis further regard this as one of the five pillars of Islam.
There are six basic beliefs shared by all Muslims:
Belief in God, the one and only one worthy of all worship.
Belief in the Angels.
Belief in the Book (al-Quran / Koran) (sent by God).
Belief in all the Prophets and Messengers (sent by God).
Belief in the Day of Judgment (Qiyamah) and in the Resurrection.
Belief in Fate (Qadar)
The Muslim creed in English:
I believe in God; and in His Angels; and in His Scriptures; and in His Messengers; and in The Final Day; and in Fate, that Good and Evil are from God, and Resurrection after death be Truth.
I testify that there is nothing worthy of worship but God; and I testify that Muhammad is His Messenger.
From the things He created, Allah has given you a covering shade, and He has made for you refuges in the mountains. He has given you garments to protect you from the heat, and garments to protect you from your own violence. As such it is that He perfects His favors upon you, in order that you submit.
Quran, 16.81
Praise belongs to Allah who has sent down the Book to His worshiper (Prophet Muhammad) and has not made any crookedness in it, unswerving. To warn of great violence from Him, and to give good tidings to the believers who do good deeds that theirs shall be a goodly wage and they will live for ever therein.
Quran, 18.1-18.3
We taught him the craft of making garments that fortify you against your own violence. Are you thankful?
Quran, 21.80
If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He is the One that heareth and knoweth all things.
Quran, 8.61
And the servants of Allah... are those who walked on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say 'Peace'"...
Quran, 25.63
Allah is with those who restrain themselves."
Quran, 16.128
Sam,
IF you truly want to get into who was treasonous between Clinton and Bush then lets do it. It's the same old tired argument from the blame Clinton for everything crowd. He did this, he did that, but when pressed they can't really give any REAL examples. As for Bush, we can start at torture that he authorized, and then we can move on to the Iraqi War and the lies that got us into that mess which has gotten more of our men and women killed than 9/11 (not to mention that Iraq had nothing at all to do with 9/11 and we had no business there in the first place), then we can move onto the "domestic" spying which I am very said to say apparently Obama is going to keep up.
As far as your working hours go, are you going to sit there and honestly tell me that your work hours went up 8 hours for less wages JUST since Obama came into office. That seems just a little TOO convenient to me.
And if you HONESTLY take a look at our great history you will see quite readily that our government has had a lot to do with who we are today. After all, had it not been for the government of Lincoln saying to the South that they couldn't just leave and make their own country we would have two seperate countries in this area today. Sure the people (as in the military) helped ensure that the South didn't successfully secede from the US but the government had to make the move first.
Had it not been for the government we would have still been in the doldrums of the Great Depression when World War II came to us. Yes the war helped end the already ending depression, but if we hadn't had a President who helped put Americans back to work before that point we wouldn't have been ready to go war. And on top of that it took the government to get us in that war in order to win the war.
Yes there are bad examples of government, there will always be. Just like there are examples of people behaving good and bad. Cherry picking arguments (which, yes I know I am guilty of, as is everyone) in order to fit your argument may make you feel better but it won't solve anything.
In the end, Obama is just now coming to the end of his first 100 days and you people are acting like the world is about to explode. Calm down, the sun will still come up tomorrow and this will still be the United States in four years.
mike, thank you for admitting that you cherry pick just like EVERYONE else. And I mean that sincerely.
Mike, Happy Easter bro!
I do not exaggerate. I am in truck stops all over America, and I see the scores of empty flatbeds almost everywhere I go, and trucks sitting still all day long trying to get work.
Trucking is a key indicator of the economy. Last fall, we were so busy, we could hardly take time off. Now, I could stay home, and I doubt my company would mind because gigs are hard to find.
Lord only knows I wish I was exaggerating. I may be out of business soon myself.
As far as specifics regarding the Clinton crimes, I will give some specific examples.
1. Clinton taking campaign money from Loral Corp, and then allowing Loral to sell China nuclear computer technology which advanced their nuclear missile programs by two or three decades. To me, that is treason.
2. The Clinton Bimbo eruptions team, which went out to destroy those women who exposed Bill Clinton for the sexual predator that he was. How about poor Juanita Broderick? If Clinton had been a Republican, there would be a Hollywood Movie out today documenting her rape, probably staring Julia Roberts, and most likely get an Oscar.
3. The firing of the White House travel office.
4. Over 900 hundred secret FBI files of those who opposed Clinton in the White House. Chuck Colson went to jail for ONE file.
5. Who hired Craig Livingstone?
6. The secret panel to establish Socialistic health care.
7. Fund raising at Temples and Churches.
8. Al Gore and Clinton making campaign calls from the White House, and selling nights in the Lincoln bedroom for cash.
9. Lying to a Grand Jury. (Clinton had his law license revoked, did he not?)
10. AND, Clinton taking money from the Riatti group to put off limits Utah's vast and rich coal reserves.
There are more, but really, who cares now? Just to show you how bad Obama truly is, I wish we had Clinton back. For all his faults, I do believe Bill Clinton loves this country. There is no way Bill Clinton, or even Hillary, would act as irresponsible and reckless with our future as Barry Obama.
My point was that Obama committed serious errors far and away worse than bowing before his Muslim pal. However, many are focused on the bow, and ignoring how Obama completely tossed America down the stairs.....again. Of course, it is really no surprise, Obama tossed his own granny down the stairs to get elected.
Oh Michael, I almost forgot to mention that I am spending the three day Easter weekend in St. Louis, alone with my dog because there were no gigs to get me home. First Easter that has happened.
On either side of me, are drivers in the same boat. Several drivers are thinking about taking their empty trucks to Washington on April 15th, (which is a holiday to libs right?) to protest.
Gawd, I wish I was exaggerating! Missouri has an unemployment rate of almost 10% bro. Last fall it was 5%.
Just to show you how bad it truly is, the driver next to me is an owner operator, a black American, and he told me he wished he'd never heard of Barack Obama. He says he'll be out of business in one month. Wow!
I know there are those of you who are sheltered from lay offs. The only people in the country who are sheltered this way are whom? Government employees.
Sam,
What is moving in your business? I went to the Houston Ship Channel on friday and did some recon. Imports and exports seem to be 1/3 off. I go down there about 6 times a year for the last 12 years.
The weird thing is a lot of business' are closed in that area. Galena Park, Pasadena, etc. The new developments are empty and the new 84 Lumber yard is closed.
The problem was a lot of this new stuff should have never been built but people that actually have jobs and work and against the new stimulus and spend and tax. The people that support the new order seem to be: Lawyers, Actors, Union workers and Students.
Last message got messed up in the type and I didn't proof as the Easter bunny showed up.
What I meant to say is the long term business' are still open. The new ones are closing.
It is almost universal that business veterens are against a lot of the new orders tax and spend. The only people that seem to support the new order are: Lawyers, Actors,Union workers, students and people that have a debt to equity ratio of 300% or greater.
OIL PRICES TO BE ABOVE $100 bbl in 18 months.
Oil prices are going to be above $100 in a few months. The reason is peak oil. Peak oil is the maximum amount of oil the world can produce. This has to deal with many issues. You can go to www.peakoil.net if really interested. The point is the government is going to attempt to vilify the US based oil companies as the culprits. Remember that ExxonMobil is the 14 largest oil company in the world. The US companies are minor compared to National OIl companies. Also remember the windfall profits tax that will be passed will be passed on to the price of oil. IE the tax will be an expense and the consumer will ultimately pay for it.
Green technology is a not even close to practical. The 1st law of thermodynamics (you can't get something for nothing) really is working against it. The efficiency of carbon is too great.
Windpower has application but one turbine has about a 15 year payout.
Ethanol competes with food and is actually more expensive than gasoline.
Solar cannot be transported.
Batteries need to be the size of cars to move people far.
NATURAL GAS PRICES 200% higher in 2 years.
The price of Natural Gas is currently $3.50 mcf. That is the lowest in 6 years. The price may actually drop another $1.00 this summer but the stage is being set for a big runnup. Because of low NG prices rigs are being layed down at alarming rates.
The setup for higher prices will be declining production the return of industrial demand and colder winters. The colder winters will become significant over the next few years. The current myth is that the planet is warming. In reality, temps have been cooling for the last 8 years. The sun is moving into a severe zero sunspot cycle that is going to send us back to the 1955-1975 era for temps.
I can see the headlines now. The reason we are cooling is because of the global slowdown in 2008-09 and the resulting decrease in CO2 emissions.
The fact is we are getting colder and unless we increase storage we could be in a future bind. It is possible the new shale plays could act as storage if we can drill and produce quickly.
I am going to play Nat Gas with the UNG etf. I have not gotten long yet.
My oil call is going well. Look for gold to move higher over the next 4 weeks.
Wallis - a few months ago, you responded to one of Michael's liberal rants (Mike, just having fun there, I always get accused of ranting) and Wallis, you made some brilliant points.
You said: "How many people work for you? Have you ever had to risk your personal money for your business? How many times have you had to take a second job to cover your bank note? Have you ever made a capital budget for your business? Have you ever made a capital gain? Has a bank required you to submit a personal financial statement?"
These were brilliant points because you clearly exposed the flaws in most liberals and the leftist leadership that now strangles America. They are clueless. They have some schoolboy dreamy fantasies about Utopia. They make nothing, produce nothing, employ no-one, have no new ideals, steal from those who produce, take what they do not earn, and then lecture us on values. Truly remarkable.
To quote a movie line from K-19 The Widowmaker. "They say there was actually a cosmonaut before Yuri Gregorian. But he was not loyal enough to hold his breath when his life support system gave out. So now, he never existed."
Failures of the left go unreported by the Media. Failures like the 8 trillion dollar transfer of wealth that has occurred since the New Deal and The Great Society, and yet the liberals continue to complain. It is like the eight trillion in stolen wealth given to the "poor" never existed.
They have no experience other than pointing out "wrongs" or "rights" but then they stumble when it comes to "duties" and "responsibilities".
Michael is a bright guy, but what do you expect to happen when you spend years upon years in a leftist dominated world of colleges and teachers unions? You end up thinking that your intellectual prowess can substitute for actual real world experience. And Wallis, that is the flaw that liberals have.
Keep the faith Wallis, God bless and Happy Easter.
sam, very nice and Republican of you use use the imagery of Obama throwing his grandmother, who he loved more than anything and died during the campaign, to which Obama took a week off to mourn, to which many observers that he would lose the election for doing, down a flight of stairs. Very nice.
April 15th being a holiday for liberals? I don't get that at all. I suppose you are accusing ALL liberals of tax evasion. Just so you know I had my taxes paid off by the end of February. The only people I know who are taking that day off, is this so called TEABAG coalition (poor choice of slogan if I've ever seen one) headed up by the far-right. I wonder how many job hours will be lost because of that. And I wonder how many of them will blame Obama for losing money, though they chose to do it themselves. Here's the funny thing, roughly 99% of the people who are going to be participating in this teabagging are actually getting money from the Obama administration.
They are also using the line "No taxation without representation". They want to start a revolution just like those dozen in the 1700s. Of course they don't know their history and they are destroying the history of the Tea Party. They have representation. But I digress.
Oh and by the way most of what you proclaim that Clinton did is circumstance and rumor. None of it has been proven true. And yes he did lie under oath and did lose his license, but seriously how many of our men and women were killed because he denied having sex with a woman.
G5, are you seriously going to sit there and tell me there was NO torture during the Bush Administration when key Bush people have said there were? You talk about us liberals reinventing history. Well you and your ilk who deny torture are akin to those who deny the Holocaust. That's just scary and dangerous.
As for global warming, I'm glad that it has been brought up, because once again those who deny it don't understand it. Global warming isn't simply about the globe warming up. Which it is. Just because temperatures in certain areas are dipping does not disprove global warming. Global warming affects weather, makes it more extreme. We have seen more EF5 tornadoes in the last few years then in the past 20 years. I am sitting in the middle of deluge right now expecting 1-2 inches of rain in one day. You want to talk about extreme weather. Last year where I am living received 15 inches of snow in 5 hours. That is extreme. Stronger hurricanes is also a factor. The year after Katrina we had less hurricanes so the naysayers dismissed global warming. Global warming doesn't give us more hurricanes but more intense hurricanes. The hurricanes in 2006 were just as intense, but there were fewer and none, thankfully, made landfall
Here's the fact the global warming naysayers don't want anyone to hear or see; Global warming is a fact. Science does not dispute this. Most scientists (in the 90th percentile) agree that Global Warming is occurring. The disagreement is whether or not humans are responsible.
Michael, he said his own granny was a racist. I did not make that up. I don't have the quote in front of me, but I think he said she was a "typical white person."
So just what is a typical white person?
I am reminded of a comment you made when G5 stated that hundreds of thousands of white folks died to end slavery. You basically waved it off, saying something like, the country was controlled by whites, so who else could do it. So their deaths and sacrifices are irrelevant?
Jesus said that: "Greater love hath no man, than to lay down his life for another." So, I will choose to listen to Jesus here. The whites that died to end slavery were involved in the greatest love.
Michael, no matter how you on the left try and sustain the global warming or the new words "climate change" hoax, it is a hoax, and daily more people are coming to sanity on that issue. Global warming or climate change is nothing more than a vehicle for you on the left to steal liberty and destroy capitalism.
I take exception to your view that 90% of scientist have confirmed global warming. With the educational Fascism that exist today, many researchers are arm-twisted into compliance with the hoax to get funding. Same with Intelligent Design. If you want to be black listed by the Educational Fascists, then tell your colleagues that you believe in God.
mike, you ask how many folks are taking the day off for the "tea party". I am guessing there will be quite a few (who should have been working)(if they had a job) but I didnt see anything about how many hundreds of thousands of liberals, and others, took off for Obamas inauguration.
Just out of curiosity, mike, do you believe o.j. was guilty of two capital murders?
If Global warming is a fact why have temps been decreasing for the last 8 years?
Actually, there are cyclical temp cycles. We have ended a 20 year warming trend and are heading into a cooling trend. The "extreme" weather of the last 5 years isn't actually extreme in the context of the 60's.
Being in the oil business with oil production in Louisiana I have a meteorologist on staff and we study the heck out of weather. Maybe I even posted on your site about the "Newfoundland wheel" that we thought was setting up in September. That is a high pressure that stalls over Newfoundland and pushes cold air into North America. That high pressure was very common in the 1950'-1970's. It has existed sporadically over the last 20 years. The reasons as ocean current, sunspot activity etc. Concepts that have nothing to do with CO2.
Michael,
Did you really mean to equivocate water-boarding a terrorist to save the lives of YOUR family and mine, to the Holocaust? You're joking right?
Again, I must point out that you on the left have no moral ground to stand on. NONE. You are so concerned about the rights of these slime balls at GITMO, but seem to have no regard for the fifty million dead babies, murdered under your liberal banner. Talk about a holocaust!
You mentioned the severe weather happenings, and blame that on your global warming hoax. However, may I point out that these calamities were foretold two thousand years ago, by Christ, as a sign of the times.
As I have stated, Liberalism is a religion. I freely admit my religion, are you brave enough to admit yours?
Big tea party, It seems that I read a blog about how some people wish they had the time to protest. I wish I had the time
You know G5 you are right. I probably went through harder times during basic training than any of those poor babies at GITMO ever went through.
I went to a Military School for part of my high school. My hazing as a new cadet, or plebe, liberals would call torture.
You noticed how when you and I listed just a few of the Clinton crimes, Michael just waves them off, other than lying to a Grand Jury. That one he could not wave off.
The main reason China is a military threat to us today is due to Bill Clinton, selling us out for cash. It is hard to have honest conversations with liberals because they ignore reality and engage in political fantasy.
Wouldn't it be nice if liberals were willing to give the USA the same breaks they give to our enemies? That has always puzzled me.
If our enemies do something evil, libs fall all over themselves blaming us. Craziness.
