Fruit SnacksPosted Thursday, July 24, 2008, at 9:50 PM
My son is now 10 ½ months old and has been eating solid foods for well into 4 months. He is now starting to taper off, as when we first started solids he would eat and eat and eat. On a recent outing to Toys R Us and the mall, I did not pack the diaper bag sufficiently, and it became apparent we were going to have to find a snack for Noah. Brian and I pondered our choices, and I was leaning towards the food court and a banana from Dairy Queen, but Brian didn't want to deal with messy clothes and hands and he lured me into buying fruit snacks.
You see, less than a month before this I had vowed Noah would NOT be getting fruit snacks; not yet. Fresh, frozen or canned fruit would do him just fine I'd say. After opening the bag of Farley's mixed fruit snacks, and pulling 5 or 6 of the snacks into smaller bite size pieces, we continued our shopping. The fruit snacks and my husband had won, but my son was happy, and we were able to stay out an hour longer than I'd suspected. So all in all fruit snacks occasionally aren't such a "bad" snack; after all, at least they're derived from fruit. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |
